Citybeat 96.7FM is Belfast’s only dedicated radio station broadcasting to a weekly audience of 128’000* adults across the city.

 

 

In 2009 Citybeat celebrated its 13th Birthday at its custom-built state of the art studio complex on the Ormeau Road in the centre of Belfast. During the past thirteen years Citybeat has proven a consistent hit with Belfast radio listeners and has racked up more prestigious awards than any other commercial station in the country– Arqiva station of the year twice, 5 Sony Gold Awards and in 2009, three New York Awards, 2 Silver and 1 Gold for the Citybeat Young Star Search.

The stations loyal listeners love Citybeat – usually sighting 'great music variety' from the 80s, 90s, noughties in addition to the best new music along with our trademark presenter ' craic and banter' as their top reasons for tuning in!

Along with our successful core mix of programming presented by Stuart Robinson, John Kearns and Glen Pavis, thousands also listen to Citybeat’s special shows - love birds tune in every night for ‘Love At 11’ then at weekends Party Goers can get in the mood with ‘Feel Good Anthems' before chilling out after a busy weekend with ‘80's Sunday morning'.

Not just Belfast can hear Citybeat! – the stations 96.7FM reaches massive audiences in the several large commuter towns and cities around Belfast - from Carrickfergus round to Antrim, Lisburn, Newtownabbey, Newtownards and Bangor. Since 2001 Citybeat has been available on the Digital Multiplex bringing the station into homes all over Northern Ireland.

Citybeat improved its FM coverage in 2006 to by adding 102.5FM in Newtownabbey and then in 2007 the station launched a second 102.5FM transmitter in Bangor and the North Down area. In 2009 the station was the first in Northern Ireland to launch an iphone app to give Citybeat a global audience for those using the handsets.
